Last week, Maria Burgelova, the CEO and Creative Director of More By Us won the award for ‘Designer of the Year’ in Bulgaria for Graphic and Web Design. We are grateful to the organizers, the Association of Bulgarian Fashion Agencies, and Irina Papazova, for the recognition of our work. We also thank our clients, who entrust us with their most important projects, and our team members, who invest a bit of themselves into every project. This award wouldn’t have been possible without our core trio – the two Marias and Val – Maria Burgelova, Maria Yordanova, and Valeria Petrova. Thank you girls, for your dedication and hard work! You are a true inspiration.
The first Designer of the Year Awards in Bulgaria took place in 1996, and since then, it has been an event to celebrate the best Bulgarian creatives. It promotes excellence and honors the remarkable talent of Bulgarian designers.
Over the years, new categories have been added, such as ‘Interior Design’ and ‘Graphic and Web Design’ in 2009, and ‘Product Design’ introduced in 2024.
The ceremony took place at the five-star Hilton Hotel in Sofia on 25th of April, where guests enjoyed elegant designer collections and a pleasant atmosphere.
Numerous awards were given to well-established companies such as Samsung Store and Hilton for their interior design, BTV for the design of their online platforms, as well as Code Fashion TV and many more.
It won’t be a surprise to anyone when we say that our proudest moment was receiving our award, but the reason might surprise you. The moment was special not just because of the award itself, but also because we witnessed one of our youngest designers, Dimitar, confidently stepping onto the stage to accept it on behalf of Maria Burgelova. Born in 2006, Dimitar, along with other remarkable young talents on our team, serves as a powerful reminder that we must provide young people with the opportunities they deserve and discard any prejudices, as they might surprise us.
We take great pride in nurturing young talent and infusing fresh energy into our team, fully aware that their contributions are invaluable and have the potential to surpass our own achievements.
Witnessing the great passion for design among today’s youth fills us with immense joy and optimism. It’s a testament to the lasting legacy of creativity, and we’re confident that the future of design is in their capable hands.
